088098 Hypertherm powermax 30 air plasma cutter is a single phase 110 or 230 volt input extremely portable machine with its own internal compressor that severs up to 16 mm mild steel and provides a quality production cut up to 8mm thick. No external compressed air supply required, plug in and cut everywhere. 

The problem with plasma cutters with built in compressors is splitting the incoming mains power, some power is required to operate the internal compressor and the rest used to power the plasma cutting components.

Those clever people at Hypertherm have come up with a solution by designing patented consumables that allow the plasma cutter to operate without the need for high air pressures, indeed the new consumables only need a 50 psi supply from the integral compressor  The compressor can therefore be a small lightweight unit that fits easily into the casing of the plasma cutter which makes it a very portable unit  that only weighs 13.5kgs in total. More of the mains current can then be used for cutting giving a higher output (16mm)  than other brands on the market.
